Bridge Curriculum
The following are the brief description of the courses. You can also review the
session titles.
Bridge 101 – Bidding in the 21st Century – 8 weeks, 2 hours per week.
ACBL - BIDDING IN THE 21ST CENTURY - TEXTBOOK - $19.95
This course is designed for people who have never played bridge before. At the endof 8 weeks, the student will learn the basic bidding system that is most popular in the
world today, “Standard American 5-Card Major”, and the proper etiquette and process
for playing duplicate bridge.
Bridge 201 – Play of the Hand in the 21st Century – 8 weeks, 2 hours per week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101 or a year or more bridge play at social level
ACBL - PLAY OF THE HAND 21ST CENTURY - TEXTBOOK - $19.95
This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge 101 course or who have been playing social bridge for sometime. At the end of 8
weeks, the student will learn the process of playing a hand as a declarer.
Some essential techniques and the process of using them will be
introduced.
Bridge 202 – Defense in the 21st Century – 8 weeks, 2 hours per week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101 or a year or more bridge play at social level

This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge 101 course or who have been playing social bridge for sometime. At the end of 8
weeks, the student will learn the process of defending. Some essential
techniques and the process of using them will be introduced.
Bridge 251 – Commonly Used Conventions in the 21st Century – 8 weeks, 2 hours
per week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101, 201, and 202, or minimum of a year of duplicate tournament play.

This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge
101, 201 and 202 courses or who have been playing duplicate bridge
tournaments for sometime. At the end of 8 weeks, the student will learn
some of the most commonly used conventions to supplement their basic
bidding system.
Bridge 252 – More Commonly Used Conventions in the 21st Century – 8 weeks, 2
hours per week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101, 201, 202, and 251 or minimum of a year of duplicate tournament play with well understanding of common
conventions.

This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge
101, 201, 202, and 251 courses or who have been playing duplicate
bridge tournaments for sometime. At the end of 8 weeks, the student will
learn some of the more complex conventions to supplement their basic
bidding system.
Bridge 301 – Modern Notrump Bidding – Play and Learn Series – 4 weeks, 3 hours
per week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101, 201, 202, 251, and 252 or minimum of several years of competitive duplicate tournament play.
PLAY COURSE - MODERN NT BIDDING - BOOK - $5.00
This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge
101, 201, 202, 215 and 252 courses or intermediate level players who
have been playing duplicate bridge tournaments competitively for
sometime. In each 3 hour session, the student will play 8 pre-dealt
hands relevant to the course material and be presented an analysis of
the hand they have just played.
Bridge 302 – Major Suit Raises I – Play and Learn Series – 4 weeks, 3 hours per
week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101, 201, 202, 251, and 252 or minimum of several years of competitive duplicate tournament play.

This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge
101, 201, 202, 215 and 252 courses or intermediate level players who
have been playing duplicate bridge tournaments competitively for
sometime. In each 3 hour session, the student will play 8 pre-dealt
hands relevant to the course material and be presented an analysis of
the hand they have just played.
Bridge 303 – Major Suit Raises II – Play and Learn Series – 7 weeks, 3 hours per
week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101, 201, 202, 251, and 252 or minimum of several years of competitive duplicate tournament play.

This course is designed for people who have either completed the Bridge
101, 201, 202, 215 and 252 courses or intermediate level players who
have been playing duplicate bridge tournaments competitively for
sometime. In each 3 hour session, the student will play 8 pre-dealt
hands relevant to the course material and be presented an analysis of
the hand they have just played.
Bridge 401 – Advanced Play of the Hand – 10 weeks, 2 hours per week.
Prerequisite: Completion of Bridge 101, 201, 202, 251, 252, 301, 302, and 303 or minimum of five years of competitive duplicate tournament play.
HOW TO PLAY A BRIDGE HAND - $16.95
This course is designed for advanced bridge players who are interested
in improving their game and becoming more competitive as a declarer. In
each 2 hour session, the students will play 4 pre-dealt hands relevant to
the course material and be presented an analysis of the hand they have
just played. The hands will be challenging and the majority of the
students are expected to fail making their contract. The detailed analysis
of the hands following the play will also show a logical approach for the
declarer to find out the best line of play against the best defense to make
the contract.
